After its initial release in the US, Elon Musk's Grok AI chatbot is now available to X Premium plan users in over 40 countries, including India. X.AI's Grok offers a distinct experience when compared to well-known chatbots like Google Bard and ChatGPT.

The platform announced last week that Grok is being made available to subscribers, with the sooner you can use the chatbot, the longer you have been a member.

Alright, everyone fasten your seatbelts.

Over the course of the next week, US Premium+ subscribers will gain access to @grok. The sooner you can grok, the longer you've been a subscriber.Grok is available on the web, iOS, and Android via the side menu (updated app required).on Android & iOS,— December 7, 2023, X (@X)

"Grok is currently gracing the globe in even more nations, dispersing laughter and knowledge far and wide. "The future is already looking brighter," stated Linda Yaccarino, CEO of X, in a post.

On November 4, Elon Musk unveiled Grok as a component of xAI, posing a direct challenge to OpenAI's ChatGPT, of which he is a co-founder. He did, however, leave the board in 2018.

According to Musk, Grok stands out from other models because it can access information in real time through X and browse the internet. This allows it to retrieve the most recent information available on a given topic from the internet.

Similar to ChatGPT, Grok can browse the internet, which enables it to give users up-to-date and thorough information.

Only users of X Premium+, the highest tier of the social media platform's subscription plan, can currently access the chatbot.

The Premium+ tier costs ₹1,300 per month on the web or ₹2,150 per month on iOS and Android apps in India.

Elon Musk unveiled the two-tier X Premium plans in October of this year. These plans offer users ad-free access to the platform's algorithmic 'For You' and chronological 'Following' feeds, along with a host of other features like ad revenue sharing, editing tweets, and the ability to post longer text or video.

The launch coincides with Musk's demand that subscription income account for half of X's overall revenue, with ad revenue expected to plummet to roughly $2.5 billion.

Far fewer than Musk had originally hoped, Bloomberg recently revealed that X currently has just over 1 million paying subscribers.
